Community Way (cw$) is a new local currency designed to be used exclusively in the Comox Valley. What's more, the project hopes to raise over $1million for charities within our local community.

So how does it work and how can you get involved?
The charities begin as holders of the community way money. Members of the public buy community way dollars from the charities at par value (cw$1 = CAD$1). The public then spends them at participating businesses. Its as simple as that.

The businesses are free to spend the money they receive so we don't lose out either. Good for business good for the community. For more details see the community way website. They have put an awful lot of work getting this great scheme together.

We provide lots of different services at the Broken Spoke, so its hard to know how to price ourselves with regard to this brand new venture. However we are 100% behind it so we thought we'd start at 100% (for our coffees anyway).
